Project Extension

The CodeVET research project was extended by 7 months until 31.10.2022. This allows the project team to compensate for pandemic-related delays in the field research, which is intended to provide an integrated insight into the practical implementation of the competency-based approaches in Russia and China by means of classroom observations and expert interviews with teachers. We would like to thank the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the German Aerospace Centre for their support.

CodeVET: Field research in China

Despite the ongoing restrictions due to the pandemic, project staff member Pujun Chen was able to successfully complete the four-month field research phase in China. During her stay in China in 2021, Ms Chen visited a total of seven VET institutions in Shanghai, Zhejiang Province and Jiangsu Province. In the selected training programmes, she was able to observe the implementation of subject-related teaching and to conduct interviews with the teachers involved. The focus was particularly on teaching practice and the implementation of the competence-based VET curricula in the Chinese context. We would like to express our gratitude to the East China Normal University and the Tongji University, who as project partners on site provided comprehensive support for the field research. We would also like to thank all the participating VET institutions and teachers for their cooperation and openness.
